The two-day Canadian Chinese University Alumni Table Tennis Tournament was successfully held on the 15th and 16th of June 2017 at the indoor table tennis hall of 1181 Denison St.
A total of 51 colleges and universities participated and 255 people participated in the competition. This time it was hosted by Canadian alumni of Sichuan University. Organizing committee members were organized by 31 people from various universities.
In two days, 132 team battles, 528 games, an unprecedented scale, surpassing the Olympic and World Cup team competitions, wrote the history of Canada’s largest table tennis team competition.
The competition on the second day was full of people. Not only did the major college teams actively participate in the competition, the cheerleaders were also full of tricks. Some were wearing hula dancing, some holding self-made placards, and some clapping fans for cheerleading. Everyone’s enthusiasm reached unprecedented levels. No matter which team scores a goal, everyone applauds and cheers. The table tennis hall not only has teammates, but also more than 80 elderly people, as well as 4 or 5 year old children. The topics that everyone talks about are around table tennis competitions. What comes to mind is that there are so many table tennis enthusiasts in Canada, and many of them have gathered here.
The organizing committee of this college cup table tennis friendly match has formulated detailed competition rules, the number of participants in each university, the number of cheerleaders, the competition format adopted in the competition, and so on. The game took 5 games with 3 wins, 3 games with 2 wins and 11 points per game. During the game, the athletes actively struggled, including pen-hold shot, horizontal shot, smash, spin ball, arc ball, etc., and there were bursts of cheers, cheers, and applause.
