On July 7, 2018, Toronto’s Milne Dam Conservation Park became a dedicated grass field registered on the day of the Canadian Chinese University Summer Gala.
Nearly a thousand alumni from various Chinese universities gathered here. Lawn table tennis, volleyball, tug-of-war competitions and picnics were exciting. According to the Canadian Alumni Association of Sichuan University, the organizer of the gala, it is not easy to register this park grassland for activities with a scale of about 1,000 people in Ontario, because Ontario has almost no park grassland recreational activities with a scale of about 1,000 people.
On this day, the sun was shining, and at 8 o’clock in the morning, under the unified organization of the organizing committee of Sichuan University, President Li Dehua, Vice President Wang Xiaoyan, and Secretary General Zhang Jinshan, about 48 alumni associations set up tents in an orderly manner. The banner of the alumni association was set up, and the exclusive “homes of the alumni association” were set up, and the grand occasion was unprecedented. In this summer outdoor gala, the lawn table tennis challenge was added for the first time, and a total of 27 athletes participated in the challenge. Xu Hongsheng from Beijing Jiaotong University won the championship, Gao Lin from Huazhong University of Science and Technology won the second place, and Wang Zhiquan from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics won the third place.
The luncheon dinner is also a joyful one, sharing the delicacies they brought, and sharing the strong taste of home.
After lunch, the alumni of the Alumni Association of Sichuan University also organized a flash mob. That familiar old song evokes our beautiful memories of
youth. Everyone laughed and danced in the singing.
